So I am considering buying the evolution racewerks down pipe and bms stage 1 tune to bring my x3 to a performance level were i will be satisfied. I am also hoping the dp will add a lil more growl to the puny exhaust note.

What do you members think? Anyone have this mix installed already?

The downpipe really won't make any difference as the stage 1 tune isn't adding that much performance - the downpipe may help spool the turbo a bit quicker but overall won't be a noticeable gain. It will add a little more noise in general that you will be able to here, but you are giving up the primary cat, so it will set a check engine line and not pass inspections unless you also install a simulator (burger motorsports sell o2 sims to fix that issue). I have the Stage 1 bms tune on mine and like it a lot - gives a noticeable punch over stock and is a quick install.

I believe the downpipe would make a significant difference. That Cat on it is huge! Dyno have proven on the F30 series (same engine N20) that not only does it boost WHP and WTQ but it also the power curve is much sooner than stock. That is what is worth it the most. I am not 100% yet on getting the downpipe just because I don't want the noise to be obnoxious and make my x3 sound like a rice burner. I also do all my parts install myself but never have I have messed with mechanicals on a bmw so its alil intimidating.
