OEM Trailer Hitch vs. Foot Activated Tail Gate

I have a 2015 X3 with the comfort package that allows for the foot to open the tailgate. I can not get the dealer to answer definitively if I install the OEM trailer hitch receiver that the foot opening/closing function will still work.

Any ideas. My thought is that the hardware for the hitch may block the sensor for the opener.

Thanks for the input.

Yes it will work.

This topic shows that the toe kick sensor is two horizontal rods on the interior of the bumper facia, while the hitch is up against the body, replacing the existing aluminum bumper support.

I installed an Invisihitch on a 2014 328d Sportwagan and a Curt hitch on a 2015 X3 28d, both with comfort access. The toe kick function continued to work just fine after installing the hitches.
