Oyster with Anthracite Headliner

How that the 2012 X3 order site is online I was able to do the 360 view to see how Oyster looks with the Anthracite Headliner which comes with the 35i SAP.

It looks strange to me. Maybe I'm just not used to a black headliner.

What do you all think?

I have this combo. To me it's good as the A-pillar and headliner are a similar colour to the dash so it's more integrated. Without the panoramic sunroof it could be rather dark (in the UK with little sun....). This pic just shows a fraction of the A-pillar:

I wasn't able to get a good angle that shows the oyster seats with the headliner.

Maybe it will look good, unusual to me because I've never had a dark headliner before.

I have this combo also - and it looks great. In my previous E90 with Lemon interior I had to settle for a gray headliner, and it wasn't nearly as good as anthracite. Trust me, it works!

Thanks for the comparison photos everyone.

I like the rear window shade. Unfortunately I think they took it out of the 2012 packages. Maybe a stand alone option now, but probably priced too high.

The rear window shades are now part of the premium package for the 2012 35i.

this thread shows me the difference between the gray headliner and anthracite - i asked in a prior thread - thanks. seeing the black headliner makes me all the more happy I have a 2011 SAP w/o M - i like the greay headliner better w/ my DSB/Mojave combo - especially since i have alum brush trim.

I initially wanted the black headliner, but figured it would be overkill with the black/oyster combo. I think the light grey headliner opens up the cabin nicely. We are going to leave it as is with ours.

Love the black headliner with Oyster. It does feel less "open", but am kind of a man-cave kind of guy - and looks very integrated. Was one of the reasons the M-Sport appealed to me, although would have been a ridiculous price if I didn't want the rest of the aesthetic difference. Still a ridiculous price in my view, but am very happy with it.

Dude, the M Sport package is a steal for the X3.... it was more than double the price for our X5 M Sport. But yeah, the black headliner does make a great difference.

Hi guys! I ordered my x3 with the sport pkg and it's sterling bronze metallic with mojave interior do you think the anthracite will look better than the lighter color headliner? I got the sport pkg just for that reason cause I was so nervous someone calm my mind?

I got the 2013 x3 Sports Activity Pkg as well and love the dark head liner with the oyster. It might be said that it has a functional rationale in racing in that it improve visibility. I'm not sure of that, I don't race but I do like it's appearance. I know foot ball players put black under there eyes to improve visibility. Just a thought.

I think any leather interior with anthracite headliner would look great except black leather coz, the whole interior would look dark which is not a usual preference. When I test drove x3, it hand beige leather with out anthracite headliner- did not like it. Got beige leather with SAP- looks great!
