The 11-14 did not have the cold weather package, because you could not get the heated steering wheel. You could order heated front seats separately and that was all. Now I am referring to a US model, and in particular I am basing this off a 2011 M Sport that I purchased. Now I know other countries are allowed certain liberties with there choices. So it if feasible that an X3 that was German spec could have had it.

I'm getting antsy... supposed to go into production this week but the website does not say "production begins" yet!

not that it matters, I broke my leg sunday and can't drive for 6-10 weeks but still, the wife wants her car too!

Just a FYI that the website is delayed 3-4 days. Calling the BMW genius number will give you pretty up to date info.

FYI: Had a my 2015 X3 28 Diesel Delivered - Took it for a short road trip from Hamilton Ontario Canada to New York City (430 Miles/700 KM trip) full tank on leaving, only 1 stopover for food, yield an AMAZING - 5.9 L/100KM OR 39.8 MPG, Comfort Mode, I was gentle on the gas pedal (still during breaking in period), highway range 120-130 km/h or 80 Miles/Hr (never heavy acceleration), on arrival, tank still has about 35% fuel left...thought might be helpful to share this with some of you

Long time lurker, first time poster.

Thanks everyone for your 2015 X3 build/ship/delivery posts. It helped manage my expectations of the entire process. I took delivery of my new 2015 X3 sDrive28 with MSport this afternoon from Valencia BMW in SoCal. I had a great experience. My sales person was awesome and I even enjoyed my time with the finance guy. Most importantly, I got a great deal.

Here's a timeline of the entire ordering, build and delivery process. Hopefully, others will get some benefit knowing what to expect when custom ordering a BMW that's assembled in the US. I got the following information from calling BMW USA (1-800-831-1117), emails from the dealership and the BMW website "Track my BMW".


May 5, 2014 - Car formally ordered and price negotiated
May 6-30, 2014 - No production date available via the 800 number.
June 2, 2014 - Car went into production.
June 9, 2014 - Car build was finished, awaiting carrier.
June 19, 2014 - Car was released to carrier,
June 21, 2014 - Car waiting at port for a shipping vessel. No shipping info.
July 1, 2014 - Car at Oxnard, CA VPC Vehicle Processing Center (email from dealership)
July 2, 2014 - At the dealership according to BMW Website "Track my BMW"
July 4, 2014 - Arrived on premises Valencia BMW, CA arrived on July 4th.
July 5, 2014 - Morning - PDI (Pre Delivery Inspection) and prep.
July 5, 2014 - 3:30pm pickup at Valencia BMW

My specs:
2015 BMW X3 sDrive28 (Alpine White w/ Mocha Nevada)
- MSport Package
- Premium Package
- Drivers Assistance Package
- Lighting Package (Xenon)

wow i have exactly the same order as yours, how was your expectation? , does mocha goes along well with white and does the msport style better than the pre lci?

Hi Luckystrike,

I love the Mocha Nevada with the white exterior. Goes perfect with each other. However, the orange contrast stitching was more subtle than I expected. Looks nice though.

As for the MSport, I think it looks a million times better now (2015 post LCI). The pre-LCI MSport wasn't aggressive enough. I've gotten many compliments on my new X3.
