Smile compatible bluetooth TCU for a 2004 X3

Hi everyone. New guy here. First of all, let me apologize if I'm posting something that's already been beaten to death. I've done some research and the results I'm getting are from years ago and I'm hoping to find something new. All that being said, here is my problem.

I'm trying to find out what bluetooth TCU part number, if any exist, is interchangeable and able to work with a 2004 X3 so I can have bluetooth. I recently acquired this car and I'm just now finding out that BMW messed up this model year as far as bluetooth goes. I have the bluetooth passcode key tucked in with the owners manual and apparently that doesn't mean anything since the software isn't there to begin with.

I see a lot of bluetooth TCU's on ebay at decent prices. I just don't know which one is compatible with my car or if this part is even interchangeable between models and years.

Any help and/or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a bunch.

You can turn it on with NCS expert.
No need for a different module.
I just did it a few days ago in a 2004 with BMW assist.

Forgot to add, you will get a can't connect error when pairing.

Turn it off and just walk away for 15 minutes or so, next time you turn on the ignition it will pair.

I'm using an iPhone 6 Plus on 9.1 beta, gf is using a 5s also on 9.1 beta.
