1. Find all the BMW dealers in your area where you are willing to travel to pick up the car. 2. Spec out the car you want. 3. E-mail each of the aforementioned dealers listed in No. 1, above, asking for a final out-the-door price. 4. Then shop each dealer against the other until you find the lowest rock bottom price. We did this for my mom's most recent X3 purchase. |

Just spoke with another dealer. I didn't know about MACO and training which is an additional $480. That brings the car to an invoice of $50,585. Their initial quote was $750 over invoice, I just requested $250 over - lets see what they say.
Also, they confirmed that USAA and Team Drive are NOT combinanble - which sucks. This is for a 2013 model. I'd rather stay on LI as it's easier with service and what not. Thinking of doing the balloon financing - anyone have any comments on this? Thanks for the input! dr |

To the best of my knowledge, the USAA discount is an arrangement between them and the discount service of Zag/Truecar which enlists dealers to participate with low price guarantees in exchange for sales leads that they would not otherwise get. There is no support from BMWNA. Therefore, the USAA discount has to be included as part of the calculation of dealer net price over invoice cost.
On the other hand, the Olympic or Drive for Team USA $1K coupon is a BMWNA national sales promotion that, like any other manufacturer promotion, reimburses the dealer for the amount of the promotion. It reduces the cost to the buyer by reducing the cost to the dealer. It has no effect on the dealer markup over invoice cost. |

Whats this about the Team Drive / USAA promotion being nationwide?
When did the offer end? Also I just ordered a 2013 last night, and came to roughly $900 over invoice. (salesman negotiated on price before destination charge without making it explicit, otherwise I would've pried for lower) You guys are making me think I should've gotten an even better deal. I thought OP is getting an okay deal? |

The Team Drive and USAA are incentives offered to US residents (IIRC). The Team Drive is still ongoing in my area (Long Island, NY) with events scheduled throughout this week and maybe next. There are certain restrictions on the USAA incentive that you must meet in order to be eligible (besides just being a member). As for the deal, it really depends on where you are. I was initially offered $1,100 over invoice by one dealer and then $750 over by the next. Asked both, via email, for $250 - one said no and one said yes. It is what it is... Congrats on the order!! Thanks, dr |

Well I can't say I'm terribly mad over a few hundred, but it certainly would've been nice. Thanks for the quick reply! |
