Multiple warning lights

BMW dealership just completed N20 primary/secondary chain replacement (old secondary chain failed). Now, the dealership is claiming the DSC control module needs replaced, but we previously never had an issue with it.

Service advisor said: "DSC control module has an internal fault which is causing a bunch of warning lights on the dash (brake, dsc, 4x4)"

Prior to the dealership, we took the vehicle to an independent mechanic who read the codes and none were DSC related.

From reading the forums here, I found this can be caused by:
  • A battery that is badly discharged
  • Broken wire going to the turbo boost pressure sensor
  • Multiple wheel sensors

Any other possibilities?

It seems likely the turbo pressure sensor wire could have been damaged while the dealership was replacing the primary/secondary chains. I also had to crank the vehicle numerous times for the temporary maneuvering procedure so I wouldn't be surprised if the battery is shot.

Thank you!
