I just got a 2013 X3 M-Sport with 34k miles. It's never been updated.

I've updated the maps to 2018-1, is there a way to update anything else or do I have to take it to my dealer? It's got an open recall so maybe I can convince them to run the updates for free when it's getting fixed?

Hopefully that will solve some issues with my Google Pixel. It's a little finicky with bluetooth and this car.

Does your car have CIC or NBT? If CIC, you can update the combox software youself, https://www.bmw.com/en/footer/software-updates.html

Wow thanks that just solved all my issues! It was having a very hard time with my Google Pixel with bluetooth. It wouldn't display the songs, audio would go weird, etc. I was about to just plug it in to the AUX port.

Everything works perfect over bluetooth now

Just put your VIN in that link and it will tell you if you can do a software update or not.
