I just pinch/push out to zoom on mine. But can someone tell me how to change the actual direction it's showing me travel? I get that the arrow is always pointing NW/SE etc. But i'd prefer it if I was always traveling "up" on the map, regardless of the direction I was going. It's annoying to be going forward buy my arrow is going down. haha.

- hit sideways on the idrive controller. - go down to the map view option. - choose "direction of travel", or better yet, perspective. you can also change the autozooming feature here (I hate it). |

Does anybody know if it's possible to code to change de zoom action?
I mean make the knob to zoom in when scrolling clockwise and viceversa. I can't get used to the way it is, opposite. Thanks |

1) Use the 2-finger pinch-in and pinch-out motion on the iDrive wheel surface, the same way you do on a smart phone or tablet touch screen? 2) If you have auto zoom on, then voice command to change zoom level by saying something like "200 meter"? These two methods are more intuitive and involve zero coding. Good luck. |

Thank you for this post, I thought I was going crazy - after driving BMWs for 14 years I thought why can't I remember which way to turn the iDrive knob to zoom the map.
In addition to the other things mentioned by other posters they completely changed the spots for the steering wheel buttons - esp cruise control vs the sports wheels on the F10 - is this car is not one to use vis muscle memory of cars past. The power window switches have also gone to being too far back like on the pre-LCI E90s Here endeth the ergonomic rant

You can also post this same question in the BMW 6-series forum and members there should be more knowledgeable about your car. Good luck! |
