I need a help!!! 2013 x3(f25)

Hi.
I bought 2013 X3 about 5months ago from dealership in Texas.
About month ago.. I realize that something wrong with my car. When I start engine, sounds like diesel and white smoke coming out from exhaust pipe.(5seconds)
I put only premium gasoline. I took care of my car well. But I don’t know what is the reason....
I found some post about similar symptoms. Some of people said problem with oil pump and some people said leaking problem...
Please help me. And could you please let me know how much does it gonna take for repair...
Thank you!

Could be a few things, one thing we can be sure of is that oil is being burned which is causing the white smoke.

You could have a leaking valve cover gasket which is allowing oil to leak through the spark plugs into the combustion chambers.

Your turbo seals may be shot and allowing oil to leak into the exhaust

Could be piston rings, but hopefully not.

as a first step, Id suggest pulling plugs and seeing if they are wet with oil.

You are taking your X3 to Pep Boys???? You have got to be kidding. First, you don't say if you have a 28i or 35i. A 28i kinda does sound like a diesel. And if you are burning oil, it wont only show when you start it. A little vapor like that is not abnormal when firs starting. But Pep Boys??? You deserve whatever happens to you if you take your car there.

^^^ Please do not take your car there, they charge you for just looking at the car and not even work on it!

Frogman,

I had the same symptom and it was the oil feed lines to the turbocharger. If you have the 2.8i then this could very well be your problem. BMW extended the warranty for this issue to 10 years/120K miles, so depending on your mileage you might still be covered.

I know the original 4 year / 50K mile warranty was transferable and I believe this limited extension would also be, but your going to have to verify with BMW.
