What is this Coaxial Cable

The local BMW dealership damaged a section of coaxial cable located above the headliner of my 2017 X3 F25 while working on the lift gate. They think that the cable section is part of the main audio wiring harness part number 61112219090. Nobody can tell me what the cable goes to or what it does, and if it is even a necessary component. The cost for the new part is $2K and is a VIN specific part made in Ukraine and is on backorder indefinitely. Can anyone tell me what this cable section does? Thanks in advance.

I'm sorry, I don't have a picture...just a description from the dealer. I was hoping someone might have some idea what they are talking about so I can run it down. The diagram for the harness doesn't even show it running through the headliner. I almost think that it may be one of the antenna cables that run to the shark's fin? I can't think of any other coaxial cables that would run to/through/near the lift gate.

A coax cable is almost certainly going to be antenna or possibly camera video. I only have wiring diagrams for the older CIC head unit. Since they were working in the area of the shark fin, it's probably one of these:

Roof aerial to head unit cables
SDARS (satellite)
GPS L= 5160MM 1 04/2016 61119375974 note this is 5m long and replaces the whole thing

If it connects to the diversity antenna amplifier, it could be a number of other things. First thing that needs to happen is to identify what it connects to in the back.

If it's ONLY a coax cable, and it's accessible and no other wiring is compromised, can you splice in a piece to replace the damaged section?

It’s #2 in the diagram and runs through a lot of the vehicle. The parts database calls it an audio wiring harness:
