35i Rough Startup
My 2013 X3 35i with 125,000km/78,000 miles starts up rough which mainly occurs after the vehicle has been driven, is shut off and parked for a short period of time (about 30 minutes) and then started up again.
On the startup the RPMs will climb very slow and the engine will sound like its struggling or it will 'stall' when it hit reaches 400-500RPM then continue climbing to 1000. I should note that the repairs/maintenance I've done besides the regular oil change is replacing the spark plugs and the infamous water pump. Has anyone ever experienced this issue with the N55 motor or know how to fix it? I have attached a few videos below. https://streamable.com/p54x0 https://streamable.com/yu9fk https://streamable.com/2eaz9 https://streamable.com/60es2 |

Either your battery is old and almost on the way out or ignition coils, ignition coils should have been replaced when you had the spark plugs done. I was getting drive train malfunction warnings after every 20 miles or so and my car would go into limp mode, doesn't go above 2k rpm or 30 mph. Also the power delivery when I tried to floor the accelerator wasn't there. I had one ignition coil replaced and it was fine for a few months, then two others went out, that's when I decided to replace all of the coils and spark plugs. Haven't had any issues since.
