Called my dealer to ask if I installed the Stage 1 kit myself if it will void the warranty. They said that it will, that it needs to be installed by an authorized dealer. I figured they would ask about $100 to install it, I mean it's a piggy back. Installation should take like 5 minutes.

I was really torn between the JB4 / Racechip and the Dinan but the Dinan not voiding warranty made the decision for me.

$305 installation fee seems a bit insane to me though...

Found a local Authorized Dinan installer that will do it for $105.

Might as well call back the dealer and ask them to match that price. Otherwise they lose out on the $105.

Easier for warranty claims to have it done by the dealer then going back and forth between dealer and authorized installer.

Good idea. I know that parts department price matched amazons price for my floor mats and projector door lights. I'll give them a call in the morning.

Apparently BMW service department won't price match it for me.

I think I am just going to go to the authorized dealer as it feels like thievery them charging me more for installation then the part costs itself. Even more so because it's a ridiculously simple install. Do you think I may have any warranty issues?

Edit: Just noticed this on the site for the Piggy Back:

WARRANTY: DINANTRONICS Sport does not carry the factory matching warranty that Dinan is known for. DINANTRONICS Sport's warranty is a 1 year product only warranty that does not cover consequential damages or labor reimbursement.

Yeah, apparently this is no more backed by BMW then the BMS or Racechip.
