Free voice control
Having had my X3 for a few days, I noticed a little button on steering wheel. Just found out that it's for the voice control which I didn't order, I only ordered the basic Bluetooth option.
As many of you know, the Japan disaster caused a major shortage of the basic Bluetooth package. It seems BMW stuck the more expensive option in just to get the car built. Pretty cool lol: |

The dealer was upfront - they cant source either the basic (supposedly included) or cheap option bluetooth and music connectivity ($220) - so we have to pony up for ($1000 - ouch) extended Bluetooth and music connectivity option - no matter what. The only bonus I see for our money is the ability to link 2 phones simultaneously. Although I woudln't be surprised if it used the core bluetooth system for the second phone (which of course will not be in the car as they cant source them) I would appreciate your feedback on whether you can actually link two phones (and an ipod) at the same time. If your dealers are adding it without you paying for it - lucky you.

Oh man... I thought maybe "voice control" had been wrongfully imprisoned and this was a thread to drum up popular support to free him. I even had a sign painted and my cooler packed.
