Help: Anyone seen a 2004 X3 that looks like this?

Hi All,

I'm looking to buy my first BMW. I'm trying to find a X3 3.0 manual and I found a good deal in Washington. The dealer says they have a 2004 X3, but the pictures look like an X3 that has the 2007 refresh (note bumpers, steering wheel).

Has anyone seen an X3 that looks like this? Is it possible for someone to have upgraded the look of an old X3 to look like this? I can't imagine anyone would go through the trouble.

Any feedback would be much appreciated. I want to pull the trigger on this but something just doesn't seem right.

Thanks.

Ahh... the M package! I didn't realize they had that for the X3. Thanks so much for the response. How do you like it? Do you think it's worth buying a 2004 model with 50k miles?

Any other opinions? I guess I should follow proper forum etiquette and search old posts too.

i love mine.. i have an 06 with 30k. I would make sure its the M door sills and not someone who hacked a regular one.

The only way to be sure its build date is to ask the dealer for the last seven digits of the VIN and then run it through ETK if you have it or realoem.com. That will bring up the build year and month.
Cheers,
Geoff

looks like an 06 to me. You can also tell by the rear tail lights. The white back up lights don't line up for the 04 05

I don't think there was a M sport package prior to 06 and all of the bumpers were black plastic

Check the vin and see if you can negotiate as if it is an 04
