Auto leveling headlights during acceleration, is this normal?

Hello All,

At night when under full acceleration the headlights point all the way towards the ground for a few seconds before I let off the throttle or the the car levels out at speed. This is not a big deal when city driving but the other night I was driving on a dark road and it got uncomfortable under full acceleration while not being able to see more that 20'-30' in front of me. Is this normal, is there a way to limit how far the headlights go down during acceleration?
I took a look at the sensors both front and rear to see if there was any adjustment available but they appear to be fixed with no adjustability.
This has been happening since I bough the car used but seems to be a little worse since replacing the shocks.
Has anyone else had this issue and are there any fixes that anyone knows of?

Thanks for the help,
