tire inflation

just checked my tires, got the car new in nov 2011, and it showed 25 lbs. either they leaked that much or purposely were underinflated by the dealer. I guess its a good idea to check more often.

Having a hard time believing that someone would not check their tire pressure in almost a year. Tires can easily loose 1-2 lbs. in a couple of months and the dealers do not always verify pressures upon delivery. By not being responsible you are putting yourself and other people in DANGER! Need I mention, Ford Explorer.

Air naturally works it way through even a good tire. Even if it didn't do this, well sealed vessels leak over time.

Tire pressure is super important for performance, fuel economy, tire longevity, and safety. Tweak your tire pressure for best tire wear, fuel economy, performance, and feel. Remember that temperature significantly affects tire pressure.

The air pressure will be down at this time of the year.

The temperature won't bring it down to 25 lbs. That really is an irresponsibly low value, and a low enough pressure that the performance will be notably altered. If you can expend enough energy to wash the car and make it look nice, you really should check the tire pressure. It's not difficult and it really matters -- to you, your passengers, and those around you on the road.

Temperature chance can probably cause ~10% chance in PSI. (got to consider absolute temperature)
