F25 2.0d operating temperature
Hi, my x3 is always running at 100 celcius. Do you think is it normal? İ couldn t find any information on that subject. And also it should be oil temperature not water, is it right?

100 celsius degrees ? Maybe I am a old fashion guy, but for me sound too much. Maybe the indicator it is not good calibrated. If that temperature it is for a short period of times, everything is ok.

Definitely oil temperature - so when it reaches "working" temperature engine is ready for optimum performance and economy. Coolant temperature reaches working levels much sooner - but no such gauge on F25. Oil takes quite a bit longer - probably even more so on diesels - which are slightly cooler running. Could also explain the potential for DPF problems - if so equipped - when mostly short trips are done.

DPF = diesel particulate filter - to catch up soot. It's a country specific addition - countries with ultra low sulfur diesel - the F25 here will most likely have it. Dealer will be able to tell whether your vehicle has it or not. If fitted - most likely will be incorporated with the normal catalytic converter - so may be difficult to ascertain on your own whether fitted or not. Southern African vehicles not fitted (except X5 40D) - but may change some time in future when ULSD much more freely available. Hope this helps.
