Great hope we both enjoy them, they should really have some Go
I bet they will be on the same boat from the states.

still can't believe we don't get this engine in the states yet. Watch, 2012 production ends in March 2012, I bet its because they are introducing the I4 turbo and 35D for the US but want to call them 2013 models, and it will be 5 months after I take delivery of my 35i (would much rather have the 35D).

Contemplating ordering one at the weekend (UK)... are these coming through any quicker than the 20d/30ds?

Yep, I'm trying to figure out if I can bridge the time between my lease end in December to mid-year for exactly this reason. Of course, BMW has to come through...

Ordered a 3.0 M-Sport back in May with a March 2012 delivery, but have since changed it for a 35d.
I was offered one for Jan delivery, but sticking with my original delivery date of March 2012.
Problem now being which wax to use on Carbon Black.

Right buy yourself "Collonite 476S Double coat" it looks old world but it's great and lasts, then put "Total performance DURAGLOSS 105" on top of it, both easy on/off and finish really looks good.

YES they have a new production line just opened, and 35D X3's get priority on the line, mine was one of the first built ( week 40) I was originally told Dec/Jan delivery, it's coming mid November.

I think it's the "emissions" that is holding things up, once accepted they will be a best seller in the States, these diesels really perform.
The X3 m sport 35D is 0-60 in 5.6 secs. Now thats quick.

You mentioned 2012 production ends in March 12', does this mean that I wont be able to order a 28i in around mid-Feb of 2012? I want this specific model and I live in Australia.

The service guy I'm dealing with on wind noise mentioned a 40D in the works, but he may have been a little mischievous! Thinking about though maybe it makes sense given the relative closeness of the 30D and 35D or it could that the 35D was originally going to be called a 40D.

The 40D engines here in the UK are in fact 306BHP, where as this new engine (35D) has 313BHP and more torque!!, so 40D would not a realistic number to me.

Maybe that's why it should have been called a 40D in the first place but just 0.4s to 60 faster maybe why 35D was chosen as a better moniker.

0.4 secs may sound not much but through the gears the car will be manic quick, 5.6 too 60 is the same time as my old 928GTS now that thing felt quick in those days, in gear acceleration in the 35D will be fast, don't forget the new Injection system the engine has pushing injection PSI too 1800 Bar!!! with special injectors. I will let you know.

I expect the 400rpm extra power band and smaller turbo(s) will be very useful.

The only thing that atops me taking the 35D is the CO2 is over 160g/km. It reduced the tax depriciation limit for self employed from 20% to 10% and it's going against the wifes business!!!

A 40D would be more like WD40 than anything else. Trying to keep all 4 tires glued to the road with a colossal amount of torque would be a tough challenge.

Pulling out of side turn on a wet road even with the 30D was interesting the other day, it gave the traction control system a lot to do and there was still quite a lot of wheelspin. I wasn't in Sport either.

I think, we will have much joy with the motor.

I've been trying to find my car on the vessel Manon, but unfortunately it is not with it. Maybe the car is on the KLine vessel Chesapeake.

IŽll see, what happened the next days at the tracking lists.
