6NR Retrofit
I have not seen any posts lately discussing the possibility of any type of upgrade (software or firmware) for 6NR. Like many drivers who purchased their X3 prior to April 2011, I would be interested in this application.
Does anyone have current information on 6NR retrofit and whether this is available in the UK??? |

I found this site in Europe, but I have never done a retrofit or used them before. They might be able to provide you with some information. Luckily, my car came with the 6NR option.

It's something that can be done, e.g. in Italy there are at least a couple of retrofitters I know that can do.
The link above seems to be anyway another route to go. Installation may require some manual work and recoding, so if you're not familiar, better try to find someone that does it for you. |

My dealer said that he believed that there would be a retrofit, but it wasn't
official and that parts ordering might involve quite a wait.

I did this retrofit in Norway (forgot to order it with the car) the part/ cable was cheap, but they spent a lot of time programming the car. Glad I had a fixed price or this would have been expensive.
