Hey Mingstar88, I don't know if that'll sell the X3... it is after all a relatively ugly car. If the X3 was a women she'd be referred to as handsome.

My investigative skills lead me to 'York Region'... possibly Richmond Hill.
Close?

I drove the Q5, Volvo XC60 R Design and the X3 35 M Sport, went with the BMW. The Volvo was a very close second. The Audi felt smaller inside and lacked power, the Volvo was great looking (to me) and had nice techno gadgets for the same price range, but the X3 had the best ride which was the most important thing to me. The M package really makes the car look pretty good.

Please do yourself a favor and get the Q5. My A4 is three years old compared to my X3's one, and the A4 is still of better build quality. Much more solid car. And I live in the middle of a pockmarked city. I drive my cars hard in all weather, so I'm able to evaluate the ratio of initial perceived quality to long-term quality.

As listed on page 1 of this thread, this is a topic that has been already discussed at length. But following on from comments above by PeteX3MWhite and ReturnZero :-
We also sent some considerable time evaluating the X3, XC60 and Q5, and thats the order they finished in. Don't overlook the Volvo - and yes I still believe the XC60 is the best looking externally of the three. Also agree the Q5 is just "too roundy and plain". Sure its got a very distinctive front-end (which people either love or hate), but the rest of it looks like any number of mid-sized SUVs from South Korea or Japan. By comparison, the X3 (and XC60) is very clearly a BMW (or Volvo) from any angle. Tony |

In my opinion the Q5 looks quite boring and fat and has less room inside. Reviews in Europe also say the ride is boring and the 4wd system not as effective as the Xdrive.
Now the SQ5 has a lovely tailpipes, but then again some would think it's overkill. |

I'm my (subjective) opinion regarding overall looks, it goes X3 < Q5 < XC60 < X3 M-Sport With the Volvo and the M-Sport neck-and-neck. I think they're both really good looking. I do like the Q5 over the normal X3, but I can't stand that black plastic on the bottom of the normal X3. |

Wrap anything in bacon and it's instantly better.

Much more luxurious. Easy to park with the top view cameras. Way more quiet. Build quality of interior is right up there with the Q5. Handles better than the Q5 in my opinion too. Hauling the grandparents around this weekend in the backseat was very comfy for them. Overall, very satisfied. You'll get the loyalty credit plus holiday sales incentives if you buy now. Aim for 6% or better off the MSRP and you should consider it a fair deal.

Q5 vs. X3
I've historically had (2) X5's and a X3 but then jumped ship to a Q5 (3.2) for 3 years.
I'm now back to the 2013 X3 3.5 F25 Msport. The Q5 was more refined and the interior was far superior .... but the old V6 3.2 was sluggish off the start. The X3 is way more fun to drive ... and the V6 3.5 is very spirited. When I find some time I'll write up some of things that I miss from the Audi (i.e. Blind Driver's assist) and some the pros/cons of the F25. |
