Congrats! I ordered mine today too - I went with a MY 2011 as dealer had it in the pipeline and all I had to do was change a few specs! Hope to get mine in a few weeks! Ordered fully loaded 3.5 M Sport in Carbon Black with Oyster and fineline too! Your AW with same color was a VERY close second choice for me and I'm still on the fence as to whether I made the right choice. Gulp!!!

Nice, congrats.
It was a toss-up between grey & white. I was planning on getting black interior until the dealer showed me a car with oyster. I love the 2 tone you get with oyster. Black is a great color. The only reason I didn't pick black is I hate seeing fingerprints & keeping it clean takes a lot of work. They had a carbon black in the showroom. It has a blue tint. I was planning on getting a 28i, but after test driving the 2 side by side I fell in love with the low end torque. Ended up spending $13,000 more than I said I'd ever pay for a car. I'm excited and nervous. You'll have yours first. Enjoy! The only thing I'm not thrilled about is the 2012 35i Sports Activity Package has 19" tires. I'm a bit nervous that they'll ride harder and be more likely to get damaged from a pothole than the 18". Do recommend the tire/wheel warranty? |

Get the tire and wheel protection. You won't be nervous about potholes anymore. The 19s" will ride harder but are still very comfortable imo. The 35i you test drove...did it have 19s?

The 35i from the test drive was 18" tires.
According to the 2012 Changes post The 2012 35i with SAP is switching to 19" 309's. The rims look nice, but I would rather have had the 18's. Can the tire insurance be negotiated or are the prices fixed? |

Agreed on the 19s vs 18s. The larger 19s fill in the car better but the 18s look nicer. |

Good to know about the tire insurance being negotiable, I made a point of speaking to the guy at the dealership who deals with this stuff and I think he said they weren't negotiable ... But then again, my head was spinning from having just signed the purchase doc and all those figures.... I am sure there are some good threads on here about the warranty stuff etc - will have to read up on these.
I did buy the extended maintenance plan upfront though, hope this was a good thing to do... (?) |

I specifically grabbed a late 2011 slot to get Sport Activity Package w/ the 18's... i live in pothole country as well.

Does anyone know if you can purchase an x3 battery separately and how much it costs? I was curious so I checked Sears, Pep Boys and a few other local places and none list a battery.

The wait will be rough. This is worse than 5 days of tracking UPS shipping status.
Question about the BMW tracking site. It shows my production# and that it's a 2012 X3 35i, but I can't find any other info. Is there a way to confirm all the colors/options I selected before they begin production? I'd like to be sure everything was entered correctly. |

With 1 day left to change my order, I changed from Alpine White to Mineral Silver.
Finally found a dealer who had one I could see in person. I like White, but Mineral Silver was interesting & unique. Never seen one on the road before so decided to go for it. |
