Carbon Black looks great if it's kept clean but it gets dirty looking very quickly

I've gone with white, because I think that Carbon Black looks best with Oyster, but that's a bit too much work for me.
So I've gone with Alpine White and black interior. I thought that the panoramic sunroof was a must with the black interior to get some light in. |

+1 Test drove black interior with no sunroof, bought black interior with sunroof. Big difference.

My X5 M Sport is Black Sapphire. Nothing more beautiful for the 5 minutes that it's clean... My 3 Series is Alpine White.... beautiful luster and shine and MUCH easier to maintain.

Having had both colors recently, I say AW. Much easier to keep clean.

I actually prefer non-metallic for white. It looks creamy and deep when properly clean. An agruement for Alpine White: |

I love black cars, personally I live on a gravel road (seriously, they are still out there...) - black car was a nightmare. Went white and much happier, like others said, it stays LOOKING clean a lot longer.
For what it is worth, I ordered Mineral Silver |

+1 here got my MSport 30D coming in Alpine White.
Would have loved Sparkling Bronze but not an option when you go for MSport. Another great colour would be the Pearl White but that has gone from a 5 Series Colour to now an X1 colour no X3 |

How many times a month do you wash/treat it? And I am assuming you store it in a garage @ night, eh? |

I haven't had it a month yet. I typically wash my cars every other week though.

MA78, you say White shows dirt? in my experience it hides dirt the best, followed by light silver... Black shows dirt the most.
Has anyone seen Carbon Black in person? I really wish they had a better color option for the M Sport, not really a fan of Black or really Dark Blue, LeMans Blue would have been a great option. Still think it has to do with the fact they are made in the US, they don't want to bring the special German colors to our plants here. |

Black cars really aren't as bad as people make them out to be. Sure swirl marks are more common on black cars but for the most part you won't see them unless you stand right next to the car nor people driving past or are in the next lane will notice it.
Against the advice of my family & friends the last car I had was black and I ended up loving every minute of it. Having to wash your car every week or every other week doesn't seem like too much to ask and waxing a car at least once a month does wonders for preventing swirls or dirt from sticking. As with any car there are precautions people can take such as not driving so close behind someone on a rainy day or go barreling through a puddle of water. |

That's true.
If it weren't for the black plastic strip above the rear bumper I probably would get the car in black. I find that the strip makes the car look more slimming, to me getting the car in black takes away from the design accents. All M sport X3s look bloated no matter what color they're in but that's just my opinion. |
