A few days ago I had about 5 mins of white smoke come from my exhaust, it stop and all was fine, this happended after about 5 mins of driving. this happened agian the next day and all was fine, I am now lossing power but now there is no smoke. The power comes back after 2-3 mins of driving, Im travelling back from germany to scotland, stopped in liverpool, now I am wondering if it will be safe to travel to scotland and get it sorted up there on Tue, but just as a heads up anyone know what could be wrong.

Obviously smoke out of your BMW is never a good thing, but where is exactly is the smoke coming from, the engine? the exhaust? somewhere else? First thing I would look to is to see if you have enough coolant and oil as major culprits for white smoke
