1.) We offer a factory matching 4yr/50k mile warranty. If something goes wrong in the new car warranty period either BMW or Dinan has you covered. End of story. No one else can claim this.
2.) 50 State emissions legal. Again no one else can claim this.
3.) Most importantly, engineering and know how that is designed to make your BMW act just like it is supposed to from the factory, just with more power and precision. Could we make more power, probably, but drivability would suffer and then it wouldn't have the hallmarks BMW is known for in their 'ultimate driving machine'.

New to the forum, been following this and other threads for a few months before I finally made the commitment. On Saturday I pick up my new 2015 X3 28i Msport with the Dinan Stage 1 upgrade (my first BMW).

Question: I'm flying down to Las Vegas, driving back to Seattle. Any special care on driving with this upgrade? That is, how long of a break-in should I allow (in miles) before getting a bit crazy?

We have had customers go crazy and push it right out of the gate without waiting for the break-in period and you are welcome to do so if you so choose to. However, personally, I would be cautious as the whole point of the break-in period is to let the internals of the BMW break themselves in gradually so if any flaws/defects were to show themselves they would do so without causing great harm to the car or the driver. My 2 cents anyway...

Trying to get this installed on my 2015 x3 35i and its fighting me. Gotta try some things this weekend that was recommended by Dinan. One thing is which connector is everyone using for power?

You should break-in the car by keeping the revs low and no crazy accelerations. Try fluctuating the revs so that it doesn't stay in one rev range while you drive all the way back to Seattle.
Warm up the car if you leave it overnight before you get straight onto the highway by driving around the block once or twice. I would even go as far as asking them to disable the Dinan tune for the first couple thousand miles.

Since owning/leasing 3 BMW's with practically zero miles, I always have (and will continue to do so) cut the recommended break in to half, which is usually 600 miles instead of 1200. I follow just like BMW says and like you mentioned above about the revs and the rpm. Then once 600 surpasses, I go in HARD, and start the "hard break-in" process which I believe seals the cylinders and their rings much tighter thus more combustion thus more silky power (only slightly of course). I do the hard break in for about 1000 miles, moderate to constant redlining. Get the engine very hot!! lol. Then after the 1000, you are good go. This is the best way to break in the engine....

Plus BMW (and other brands) redline the car right off the production line to make sure everything is tight and nothing breaks off the bat.

There are plenty of debates about break in, this is my 2 cents.
