Hello all,
First post also and like so many, viewed forum for some time before choosing to order an X3. Also moving from VW (tiguan). Looking forward to getting the car in March and hoping like most that snags are kept to a minimum. Enjoyed reading the threads on here, good and bad experiences always help prospective buyers but most forums normally highlight the bad. |

My X-3 had wind noise while driving between 50- 80 mph that was eventually fixed. I haven't had a problem with my steering but I still would have driven my X-3 until the wheels fell off. I love my ride compared to the other SUV/SAV that I have driven.

I havent figured out how to post pictures on the form yet but my paper work says:
Mirror assemblies replacements are required, replaced left and right mirror coves and trims and painted as needed for secure fitment. It looks like a PUMA Case # 53273219 report was done along with SIB652212 to correct the problem. If their is a specific number on my paperwork that can help let me know. Im going to try and find out any easy way to pot info on the sight today. Good Luck |

I've noticed some wind noise emanating from the driver side roof/window/front windshield, or rearview mirror area as well.
It was pretty windy yesterday, and on numerous occasions, I recall having pressed the window switches thinking my window was not sealed properly. Not sure what is going on. I will make a mental note of this, and if it persists, a visit to the dealer is in order. Cheers/B |

I guess when I take my vehicle in for the yearly maintenance that I won't get my vehicle back the same day. I just got my vehicle back last week and the navigation was updated SIB652212. Despite all the SIB I still luv her

I found the X3 noisiest on the highway between back to back test drives of the Q5 and Murano. A substantial amount of the X3 noise was from the run flats. It was a M Sport X3.

I also got a 2013 X3 28 for about a year and this wind whistling sound has been bothering me. Finally I brought it to the dealership for diagnostics while doing my regular maintenance. Unfortunately, foreman along with their service manager sat on the car and test drove with me and we couldn't reproduce the whistling sound. Even when they test drove for about 30 minutes themselves they didn't hear anything. The funny thing is once I left the dealership it started to come back again!
I think the reason why it didn't whistle was because (1) lack of cross wind during the drive (2) poor highway condition causes excessive road noise that overtook the whistling sound. I am using tape trying to locate the leak and will probably go back to the dealership few weeks later for another test drive. If I have to I will drive the foreman back home because that route always can reproduce the whistling sound! |
