Ugh, I just received the rubber mat kit I ordered from the stealer (including the trunk rubber mat).

To say that it's cheaply made and cheap looking would be an understatement. The mats are all wafer-thin, laughably so compared the set BMW sold me for my 335i.

The trunk mat fit is very poor, buckles in some places and feels unbelievably thin.

Skip this whole 'official' kit and get some third party mats.

How about the floor liners? They seem to look good. I agree with you and didn't like the mats.

My floor mats are very very thick and very very very good quality from BMW. The trunk mat is another story though.

I've bought both and agree that the rear cargo mat is a bit thin but it's not bad. My rubber mats I bought are still in the packaging but they seem thick and they are extremely heavy.

The BMW OEM mats are of very good quality and fit exceptionally well. The perfectly positioned hook and loop fasteners keep them in place and keep them from interfering with the accelerator pedal (a la Toyota)

The BWM OEM cargo liner is made of thinner plastic (not heavy rubber like the mats) and also fits very well. The thinner (and lighter) construction is an advantage when you have to lift the liner to access the storage space below, or to remove it to dump any debris it has caught. The lip will contain liquids, and the folding cargo box is a great, useful accessory. You do have to take a few seconds to fit it properly: It must be positioned fully forward right up to the rear seat back.

Everyone is entitled to their own tastes or opinions:
Mine is "Highly recommended and totally worth the price".

Most people on this forum have expressed similar opinions on the many "cargo liner" thread posts.

If you're considering a purchase, take a look yourself and then decide if the mats and cargo liner meet your needs, and if quality is up to your standards.

I have both the mats and the cargo mat and they are perfect. I'd recommend it to anyone.

I have the front and rear rubber mats. I was pleased (and impressed) with their quality. I can't comment on the trunk mat... didn't get it.

Maybe the Canadians are getting something different than those in the U.S. My all weather OEM mats are great and don't feel thin at all.

Can someone share a comparison of the floor mats (51472164763*) and the floor liners (82112210410*)? From what I can tell from the pictures the floor liners look very similar to the weathertech liners.

I have both the all weather floor mats and the rubber cargo mat. The floor mats are very thick and heavy. I am not using them regularly, since I live in SoCal, but I am definitely looking forward to using them come winter/rains. They seem very sturdy and they fit the floor area very well.

I personally really like the cargo mat, although it is thinner/lighter than the floor mats. It fits great (yes, it does cover the side pocket a little, but this personally does not both me). It is easy to roll up and store/take out if need be, such as for accessing the trunk storage or if you just don't want it in there for some reason.

Definitely recommend, although I am sure 3rd party ones will be fine, too.

I'm seeing the same thing as well on the trunk liner... Yesterday I loaded a bunch of heavy equipment in and after I did I realized the liner wasn't all the way back and was pushed too far forward and the hatch wouldn't close because the liner was in the way... I was too lazy to unload and reload everything so I just folded it out of the way and after I got to my destination, the liner was pretty wrinkled up and all bent up after I unloaded everything.

Maybe it will go back to it's shape but we will see, I'll take pics if I can. I really didn't mind as I'd rather the liner take the abuse than the rest of the interior or flooring.

What is really working for me, although a bit spendy is the universal cover for the back seats. I put that in and I can throw stuff in the back seat without having to worry about it scratching up everything as it shifts around... also is good for the dog.

I too was looking for something different for the rear cargo area. I don't move lots of dirt, or 2x4's or, but rather swimming, biking and running stuff with my bike in the back of my car (with the seats folded down) at least 3 times a week.

I wanted access to the right side storage bin and the metal hooks as well AND something that wouldn't get in the way when i put my bike in the back.

I ordered one of these for around $25. It is PERFECT for my needs and I got it customized with a NY logo as thats where im from.

It fits perfectly right inside metal tracks giving you access to both the rear cargo drop area and the metal tracks and hooks.

Just enough coverage so you don't trash your X3 but it's not cumbersome either.

And I am very picky and detail oriented as well. I measure the back pre-order to make sure it fit perfectly and it does. (ps- thats not an X3 in the picture, but it sort of fits the same way)

I can't agree more, I got the same and I am very happy. During winter they might not be deep enough to hold water but we will see.

For the cargo mat, I made myself a custom version Total cost 2$ LOL. Took a blue poly tarp for camping and cut it to fit. Perfect for my needs and can roll it tight to hide it in the storage compartment!
