Just ordered X35i WITH 6NR in US!
Finally! Just got off the phone with my dealer and got a production number for my X35i (Mineral Silver) loaded up with 6NR! I got a build date of April 14 and am waiting until Monday to see when I could get a PCD (whats a few more weeks!).
Anyway, been following this forum like crazy and wanted everyone to know that you can order 6nr in the states right now! Not sure if Mid-April is the earliest or not, but that is what I got. |

Cool! This is something that I was really sorry I could not get. I was hoping for the retrofit but it does not seem to be in the cards. I hope that the system can evolve as they hinted at, because having an interface for app display in the car makes a heck of good sense! Also, I'd like BMW to enable AirPlay for its screen. I guess it'll have to be in my next car

Went to the dealership today, bad idea, I have officially ordered every option
35i Mineral Silver w/ Nevada Mojave Leather - Sport Activity Package - Convenience Package - Cold Weather Package - Dynamic Handling Package - Premium Package - Tech Package - HUD - Premium Hi-Fi - BMW Apps (6nr) Had the the best test drive! Was by myself, brought my iphone and the cable, cranked up some music, put it in sport mode and drove like an idiot! I was on a high for a good hour afterwards! Seems worth the money too me! |

Congrats on the order! It makes me that more impatient to just order my X3 already. lol
Question: did the sales agent know what 6NR was and knew what to do when you asked him you wanted it? |

They originally said build work 14 so hopefully that stays true. Doing the PCD and really excited for that! To bad this forum probably cost me an extra 5k in options... |

Nice! I'm doing a very similar order (minus the HUD) -- will place it after my BMW Experience drive this weekend. Which wood did you decide to go with for the Nevada leather? David |

Fineline (the dark one). Would be nice to been able to see some of this in person, but I am moving from a white car with black interior so just wanted to switch it up!

Congrats! That's the same color combo I plan to order and minus the DHP and HUD. And if I can control my urge to splurge, I also plan to wait for the Turbo 4. Hopefully it's available by 4Q11. It's going to be a long wait!

As for the HUD, I can't imagine it is worth the cash and they certainly didn't push me to get it, but a couple people on the forums do, and I figured once I am up this high I might as well get it all! And I do use nav everyday so it will get used... |

Ha! One of the reasons why I stayed away from test driving a 35i! I originally budgeted low 40s which I could do if I went with a Q5 P+ but with an X3 28i and the options I plan to order I'm upper 40s already. I got to draw the line at 50... and then hope I don't cross it!

Yeah, was actually a bit surprised they said that. I figured they'd want buyers to add more options. Maybe it's 28i v. 35i thing.

Thats why I said don't try it if you don't want to buy it! The radio cranked and flooring it down a freeway ramp in sport mode was just too fun to not get the radio upgrade and dynamics package.
If it is a family car, I would imagine 28i without is the sensible thing to do, but if you want to drive, well worth it. |

About 3 months ago my plan was to get a used 2008 5 series wagon and sell my 10 year old Passat. Drove a used wagon and just didn't love it.
Then I drove the X3 and well, there went the "I'll get a gently used car" plan. Drove the 28 and loved it. "Great," I thought, I'll add a few options and keep it in the low 40's. So I just ordered a 35 today with nearly every option - I had planned on ordering, Prem Pack, Tech, Cold Weather, upgraded hi fi, sat radio but I wanted to wait and get the 6NR, so of course that meant looking at this forum more and of course just added today: Dyn Hand. Package and Sport Package. (I'm trying to get satin roof rails delete but it doesnt look good). So the final spec: x3 - 35i Deep Sea Blue Chestnut Premium Tech Cold Weather Convience Dyna Handling Sport Pack Upgraded Stereo Sat Radio 6NR Week 14 build - mid April. Dealer says will have it end of April. I'm scared to death. (PS - just traded in 2008 Honda minivan today for 2011 Honda minivan for the wife and family outings - 3 kids). Great car. |

My understanding is that turbo 4 is for the X1 coming in the Fall. I doubt they will switch engines in the x3 midstream. Kind of a marketing problem since the turbo 4 is a much better engine than the non-turbo 6 (full torque at 1200 rpm) and costs them less to make.
