Tunes/Piggybacks
I'm looking for some extra power, figure the ECU is the first stop.
I liked the idea of the COBB accessport because it is completely reversible for dealer visits. Are there other alternatives? Not much info in terms of longevity of the N55 on the JB4. I don't want to blow up the car... lol

I've had a stage 2 jb4 w down pipes on our m235 which has the n55 engine for a few months without issue.
On that forum the jb4 is most popular and had a proven track record. |

yeah, but im still under factory warranty and im afraid that the service depts at the dealer are very familiar with how to test for JB4 now (just press the left and right buttons on the wheel) that's what concerns me... flashes are undetectable unless the ECU is sent out most of the time.

@beneliezer , what you said is correct in some way. ECU tune is not detectable for who only know how the JB4 map switching work. But then, on these F series BMW's, the only way to flash tune is to physically crack open or drill a hole to the ECU, which for warranty coverage is a no no to tamper with the ECU.
The best way is to do a stage 1 piggy back where it is easy to install and remove. Your option would be RaceChip Ultimate or BMS Stage 1.
