I was hoping for a "choose life" easter egg that started navigation to Edinburgh, but no joy.

'Choose passenger' would be a cool option.

I was unable to use the telephone button to answer the phone. However, I changed the BT settings in my wife's iPhone 4 to have it sync "recent calls". After I did this, the telephone button on the wheel started working. Also, I noticed the thumb wheel on the steering wheel only scrolls recent calls rather than the phone book. Would be cool if you could set it to do recent and/or phone book.

Regardless, I saw the gremlins of the phone button not working and think I discovered a toggle.

good luck!

The other thing that annoys me is that they seem to have taken away the "dial name" voice command that I have become so accustomed to using. In previous generations of iDrive, you could say "dial name" and then say any name in your phonebook.... that feature seems to be gone.
You realize for that you're supposed to say "phonebook" --> "name" --> "yes"

I never was able to answer calls with the button in my very recently departed '08 335XI. I always had to use the i drive controller. I haven't tried it yet in the X3. I have a Verizon HTC touch pro 2. I've only had the X3 for 8hrs 45 min though.

For the iPhone 4 users that are experiencing the issue where you can't answer the first call on the steering wheel but can on subsequent calls, I just updated my iPhone OS from 4.3.3 to 4.3.5. I can now answer the first incoming call on the steering wheel.

My wife and I both have iPhone 3GS's. What you have to remember is to ensure that you have the right phone selected and bluetooth is set to on. We manage to answer both our phones via the button on the wheel without problems.
