How do we replace worn shocks if we have dynamic damper control?
Howdy,
When I had a Forester I just bought some KYB Excel struts and installed them myself. Now that I have dynamic damper control what is the process for replacing worn shocks? Is the DDC hardware separate from the strut? Thanks!!! |

There is a separate control unit, but the shock itself is also different because it has an electrical wire going to it and some of the EDC components are part of the shock. The process to change one is basically the same, other than plugging in the electrical connection. They cost about twice as much as shocks w/o EDC. Go to RealOEM.com and plug in the last 7 places of your VIN, click "browse parts" then the "rear axle" picture and you can see both types. If you Google the part numbers you will see close up pics and prices so you can see how it looks different.

So that would mean that fitment of the following struts would require forgoing the dynamic damper control. Wouldn't it?
