Window automatically goes down on start up
Hi this is my first post.
I am wondering if any members (RHD X3 2004-2007) have experienced something along these lines: 1: All windows can be controlled by the driver's master switch no problems. 2: The LHS rear window cannot be controlled either up nor down from its own switch 3: The LHS rear window automatically lowers when the key is switched to position 2 only after unlocking the vehicle when the window lock on the driver's master switch is not enabled. 4: If the vehicle is left unlocked, the window will remain up when the vehicle is next started up. I have tried swapping out the rear window switches and the effect is the same. I'd love to know what I am missing here as I've not been able to locate a cause or solution. If anyone can offer assistance I would be very grateful. Thanks in advance. Last edited by quinns; 09-11-2015 at 07:51 PM.. Reason: Solution discovered |

Ok - after not getting any takers on this forum, I removed the rear passenger door trim to discover (after very close inspection) that two wires in the window wiring loom had become mildly crushed enough to expose the copper and short each other, I repaired this by separating the two wires and taping up the exposed areas.
Problem solved. Hope this helps someone out there one day. |
