Yellow Halo ring

Anyone dealt with yellow "angel eye" "halo light"?
It is my outer ring and I replaced the outer LED module, but nothing changed. Now I am wondering why are they sold as a set.
The other thing I noticed is that inner module is connected with 2 connectors, but only one connector goes to my outer module.
