Is it ok to lift an entire side of one car using one of the jack points ? I used the driver side jack point to lift both the front and rear wheels up on one side. I put jack stands not fully on but under in case of failure but safety aside is it ok for the car to lift like that ?

Not a jacking expert but I would say at the Performance Center they do an exercise with the X5 or X3 that lifts one front and the opposite rear tire a foot in the air. You can balance the car like that, open the doors, etc. No frame flexing whatsoever when balanced on the 2 tires. Here is an X5 doing just that.
PS: No tire slip either. xDrive handles it with ease.
