Radio stays on

Hi all, I just picked up my 28i msport and when i turn off my car and open my door the radio stays on until i lock the car. This is very annoying, I don't lock my car in the garage. I'm coming from a 2011 x5 msport and when I turned off the car and opened the door it would shut off.

Anyway to set it up so the radio turns off when I open the door to get out?

Push the Start/Stop switch twice. The first push shuts off the engine. The second push will turn off the radio.

It times out eventually. 15 minutes til it enters sleep mode I think (wife hopped out and i was just waiting in the parking lot today. The car eventually shut off the electronics)

This same issue really used to bug me too - until you realise how simple it is to correct it!

The second time that you push the button your foot must be off the brake.

Also if you hold down the start/stop button when you turn the car off the radio turns off. I hate this feature though. Why would anyone still want the radio on once the drivers door has been open. At least make it possible to turn on and off. Come on man!

I do ..... If I stop at a fuel station or shop and get out with passengers in the car they want to be able to carry on listening to music plus many other situations I can think of.

Is it really a big deal to hit a button twice ?

It is not really a big deal to hit a button twice. However having owned my 28i msport just under 2 months, I am still trying to make things second nature to me with this car. I came from a Cadillac CTS and still have trouble for instance remembering to lock the car when I leave it. The CTS locked itself when I walked away and I became very used to that. I have found that the fact the radio stays on when I open the door is the only thing that reminds me that need to lock it up.
