Guys, the power liftgate also closes by remote...
I saw this was an issue in an earlier thread where several state that the trunk can not be closed with the remote.
FYI The tailgate definitely closes with the remote , in europe at least.. Just keep pressing the trunk open button on the remote.. You have to hold it pressed all the way until it closes... When you release the button the closing mechanism stops, only the last few cm are automated without the need of button activation. There's some latency before the mechanism is activated from the time of the moment you push the button, maybe it was this that tricked others.. Last edited by X3andZ4owner; 06-21-2011 at 12:36 PM.. |

I just tried mine, and cannot get it to close using the remote. Have to push the button on the door, or hand push it closed....

Too good to be true...just tried it on mine. I have CA. Tried all sorts of combinations, best I could get was (while continuing to press the unlock button), was to get all my windows to open as well as my sunroof.
Too bad, would have come in handy.

That is exactly as I did it - did not work. I held the open button quite a while, nothing.

Yup. EU spec cars have always had the remote windows-up feature, while US spec cars haven't, I'm guessing it's the same for the trunk.

US spec cars also don't fold the mirrors in when you hold the lock button on the remote for some reason

NO Tailgate remote close in the US. (too many lawyers). A stupid owner standing under the tailgate pressing the "close" button and hitting him/herself on the head would be on the phone to his/her lawyer in 15 seconds to sue BMW.
Either Norway has no stupid owners or not enough lawyers. |
