Wouldn't that be distracting having light emanating from the footwells when driving in the dark?
I'm sure there are plenty of ignition on power in the footwell area, just use a voltmeter to find them or look at a schematic. LEDs are such low power you don't need to worry if there's enough power. |

I recently hardwired a radar to the front glove box on my X3 which involved fishing the wire from the driver side to passenger side of the car by passing through a gap all the way behind the center cluster so I know that's an option. Just remove the footwell top panel to get access to that back area and you'll see what I'm talking about.
