2016 MSport Non-Staggered - What tires are you buying? (Florida)
Hey guys,
I urgently need tires and have been looking at all the reviews and they're pretty consistent across many brands. What are you guys buying these days for a good handling and comfortable ride? I probably would stick with run-flats because what would I do about a spare? I don't want one just in the trunk taking up space. Thoughts? Currently the car has Goodyear Eagle LS1. Thanks in advance, JD

Michelin Pilot Sport All Season 4 XL, AAA membership and a tire repair kit in the trunk with portable compressor. Run flats are overrated and if you’re staying in FL, would you ever really be that far away from a tow truck?

I have a 16' M Sport and also live in Florida.
I bought the conti DSW06 pluses and they've been awesome in the wet and dry. Like the poster above me I keep a tire repair kit and a compressor in the trunk. I just roll the dice. I drove my M3 for 10 years without a flat tire with no spare (Knock on wood) |

I've had two F25's... and have run the same stock Goodyear Eagle (which was the WORST) and also the stock Pirelli runflat as well.... took them both off (Eagles still had half life left but sucked that badly).
I too, in FL, and wanted to stay with the RF tire... Here's what I'm running now, and what I ran on my last F25 also... with NO regrets!! MICHELIN PRIMACY MXM4 ZP They're grippy and quiet and seem to wear extremely well. Pricey - but it's the only thing that's holding the car on the road... Tires and Brakes - worth every penny of each investment! |

I've been running staggered Firestone Indy500s past three summers.. very grippy in the heat. Starting to see some wear in the rears now (roughly 20,000kms driving), but it was pretty good value.
I have Michelin Pilot All Season 4 in our other car, also pretty happy with that. |

stay away from run-flats... waste of money and ride quality is not great at all.

Back guys, so ironically enough the day I made my post I got a screw in one of my rear tires. I've had the tires for only 8 months, which I purchased at Tire Kingdom. I went to Tire Kingdom and they told me I didn't buy road hazard and they can't patch it because it's too close to the sidewall XYZ XYZ go home we can't help you.
HOWEVER friendly reminder to all Continental tire users that Continental themselves offers a 12 month road hazard warranty on all of their tires. I called up the support line and they directed me to discount tire who will verify that it cannot be repaired and Continental will comp 100% of the cost of a new tire. At worst it would be heavily prorated if you did a ton of miles in that first year and had this issue. Thought I would come back and let everyone know since apparently tire places do not tell you this as it doesn't benefit them. |

haven't been around - been dealing with a lot of crap for this vehicle (someone did a lot of damage off-road when I lent it to them...)
any way, thanks for the input. I did a ton of research and ended up going with Bridgestone Drive Guard Plus from TireRack. I'll report back in like a year lol when i actually get a few thousand miles on them. (seriously I drive so little)

yeah that's why I bought this X3 instead of continuing to lease (and since lease prices are insane right now)

Im in the same boat as you, I have a 2017 m sport and i hate the RFTs and are planning on dropping down from my 20 inch wheels to the m sport 19s style 369, after I purchase those wheels im probably going to get 19 inch michelin pilot sports all seasons and try to go square. Not sure if its going to work
