Hello all,
I was expecting insurance costs to increase this year.
Last year I paid ~£470 for insurance on the X3 3.0D and a Honda Jazz- two drivers full business use, 13000 miles per year on the X3.
The auto renewal with Admiral Multicar was £780
After picking up the phone and talking to them (easy haggle) it went down to £463!
Very happy with that price.
I you don't ask you don't get.
Annoying that the auto renewal price is so high each year. :

I had an automatic renewal price from my insurance company of £245 fully comp including all the extras. This was up from £210 last time! I went online and obtained a quote as a new customer and was quoted £168 for the same cover! Needless to say I bought the new policy immediately and phoned later to cancel my auto renewal on the previous policy!

To think I very nearly let the auto renewal go through!

Happens pretty much every year here in Australia. On at least 3 occasions over the last 10 years or so I've got the automatic renewal - got on line as ianfp did with the same insurance company and got a lower quote. In each case, made a phone call and with no haggle at all, got the renewal price down to the on-line quote. It really is a con game they play with annual renewals.
