I don't recall anyone suggesting they felt trapped in the car, the problem is accelerated wear that will occur over time on the aggressive side bolsters. Take a look at any used BMW with sport seats.

I've noticed this too. I'm 5'11" and can't avoid compressing the bolster getting in and out of the car. The use of the memory settings -- one on the lowest position -- cited above seems like a promising approach. Since I've only had my little truck for less than 3 weeks now, I'm still just scratching the surface on how to operate it. My last car was a 2003 Acura -- a nice ride but with a fraction of the technology on this sled.

I was hoping for videos?

I have had two pants ripped of apart (from the arse side) while entering and exiting my current vehicle.

More money down the drain due to pants ripping than maintenance of the car!!

And technical specs:

I am 6' 3" 13⁄64 (google converter)

To clear, my concerns were actually with the seat bottom bolsters (are even called this when referring to the bottom cushion?) and not so much the side bolsters. When getting out I noticed that I'm always crushing the side closest to the door...and maybe I'm doing the same getting in but for some reason it escapes my notice. I guess that's just an unavoidable area where the first signs of wear will show. That's the price you pay for having sporty supportive seats on an SUV I suppose. It would be downright comical to install a set of deep-dish racing seats and watching the mini street version of Cirque du Soleil show that follows.

I completely get where you're coming from on this. My solution involves rotating to the low point and stepping out vice leaning out. Dunno if that make any sense as I've written it, but it for me it seems to reduce the "bolster mashing" that can be involved in getting out of this car.

Ah yes, the original question definitely makes more sense now with the clarification. I think unless someone is 6'3" and taller or 2/3 of your body are legs you'll be resting most of your weight when entering or exiting. Plus, even if a person is tall most likely they'll be setting their seat higher than a shorter person so it kinda ends but being counter productive anyways

BTW does anyone think the bottom bolsters are aggressively flaired? I'm 5'9" 170 so I don't think my butt is overly wide but even then they feel pretty constricting.
