BMW Drivers Really Are Jerks, Studies Find

According to a video report from Aug 13 in the Wall Street Journal, two studies in the USA and the UK find that-

"Drivers of BMWs are frequently criticized for habits on the road that are perceived as aggressive. Two new studies provide statistical evidence that BMW drivers really are the most aggressive and more prone to road rage. MarketWatch's Thomas Bemis reports."

All I can say is- bask in the glory.

I guess a few rotten apple can spoil the bunch, I would like to think most of us are good drivers. I find Audi drivers are just as bad.

Garage List
I would agree with those studies based on what I've seen on the road as well. I would indeed rank Audi up there a not too distant second - but I guess the aggressive drivers are going to be attracted to BMW/Audi for performance anyway.

It's usually the 3xxi drivers...

I tend to agree with that, the 3 series and A4 drivers are more aggressive. Although it seems like some A6 drivers have something to prove as well everytime they see a F10.

hmm, if I wasn't an aggressive driver I would have bought a Toyota and aimlessly obstructed traffic in the passing lane, all the while cursing the a-holes in BMW's for passing me on the inside lane.

I think there is a difference between being a aggressive driver and keeping up with the flow of traffic or using the left lane correctly, which is a passing lane.

Perhaps it matters whether the driver has paid her/himself for the car or not

I wonder if delving into the research would reveal that most incidents of apparent road rage by BMW drivers were precipitated by a Prius wavering between 45mph and 54mph in the far left lane through a 55 to 65 zoned section noticing nothing outside because they're staring at the efficiency gauges on the dash and feeling very smug.
