There is no recall or even a TSB listed for the window problem. If it's a recall, all owners would be notified. What did your work order say?

I went to the dealer last week and they fixed the passenger side window regulator as a recall item.

I noticed today that my rear passenger side window does not go down or up smoothly. That is, it seems to only go an inch or two and then I have to press the button again - and keep doing that until it's open or closed to what I want. Would this be in any way related?

dealership mentioned something about the power lifter on the window, so i would say it's related. give them a call they would know if they have that as recall, then just get it done

My sales person didn't know of any recall/service bulletin so I made an appointment to bring it in. They'll give me a loaner car. I hope it doesn't take a while to fix up. Rats...

Mine broke this past week and the dealer fixed it while I waited. The service director said they've been seeing a lot of them come in. I had to replace two in my 2000 323i. I guess they haven't improved the design much in 12 years.

Okay, so the service rep said it indeed was the window regulator that was causing my issue on the rear passenger side window. Interesting if the above bulletin covers only the front passenger side window.

What's worse is that he said the part has to come from Germany and it'll take 7-14 days. So, I'll put up the car and then he'll call me when the part is back in. Sigh.

At least the trip wasn't a total lost - they did fix a fuel gauge issue that I had where one of the sensors were bad. That part comes in tomorrow.

As a side note, they did give me a 2012 528i as a loaner and I hadn't driven a 5 series since my dad's 528e like 20 years ago. I didn't realize how much I would miss satellite radio as this doesn't have it. But it did have a bootleg Adele CD in it. HAHAHA (but there's no crying in BMWs!)

They ordered a regulator for me and it came next day.

Rats. I dunno - maybe there's a backlog? They ordered the part for the fuel sensor and that came next day.

allegedly, they ordered a regulator for my rig on thursday and it's suppose to arrive today. will advise if that's not the case.

I suspect BMW has a couple of parts hubs in the US. Maybe a west coast and an east coast hub?

guess what.... right after I hit SEND on the above message, my dealer's automated system called and said "your parts arrived" A bit serendipitous!

I got the service order back and it says that the part is on backorder from Germany. Maybe just the rear passenger side regulator is backordered? Ah well - no biggie for now.
