Great choice and nice spec. I am glad to see you have added VDC!

I would question the long delivery time though!

Congratulations, that sounds like a lovely specification.

as ianfp said, that wait seem long. I've not had a confirmed delivery date for my car yet from the dealer, but when I placed the order they were hoping to get before the end of the year. I suppose it just goes to show that there's still demand for the car so long after it was introduced which will hopefully be good news in years to come, although the number of pre-registered cars at numerous dealers makes me think BMW maybe 'supporting' the car more than they've needed to in the past.

I have a close family friend living in my local village who is the sales car manager for BMW Dick Lovett of Swindon (was with him yesterday) and he advises that the waiting time for an X3 is far better (shorter) than you have been quoted, especially for the 2.0d. This is because the demand has dropped off from the Far East and accordingly the world demand for it has dropped off considerably. I would suggest you go back to the dealer and pressurise him to do better.

By the way, he advises that the X3 is still one of the second hand cars best buy's by a long way for retaining its second hand value. This of course could change given the information above concerning the Far East demand.

Enjoy it when you finally get it.
