Farting sound on deceleration

Just trying to see if what I'm experiencing is a normal sound. When letting off the throttle after a hard pull the exhaust makes a sound that is like some making a fake fart sound or blowing raspberries. Is this just normal wastegate noise? I've watched some videos of other x4s and seem to hear the sound but seems extra loud on mine. Car runs perfect and does not make any weird noises at other times just the loud fart sound when releasing the throttle after a high rpm pull.

it's normal. To me, that sounds like the burbles so coveted in the performance world. It's always on a downshift of letting go of the gas. Also, it's VERY amplified in Sport and Sport + mode.

You mentioned wastegate but what I think you might be referring to is an sound coming from the exhaust? i love the sounds. Don't get me started on the "pops" too. Together you get the lusted "burbles and pops". Go on youtube and see if this is the same thing. tons of video on how to get LOUDER burbles and pops.

Yes. This is normal. It’s the wastegate (aka the pop off valve) blowing out the excess boost that wasn’t used.

The 18-19s had very noticeable burbles and then they calmed it down a bit starting with the 20s. You can adjust the amount of fake engine noise in your settings if it bothers you. My car used to be loud during start up and it would drive my wife nuts if I went to take the car out of the garage when the kids were sleeping haha
