Interior door trim question

Is there a way to remove the wood interior door trim without removing the door panel? Is it possible to just pull slowly enough to pop the screws out of the trim? The clips should still hold it in place.

You will crack the wood for sure exerting that much pressure at a screw point and just clips, if there even are any, will not hold it tight. Not sure why so many people fear removing a door panel. It's really not very hard.

Opie55 Agreed. I'd recommend in general to have extra door clips on hand just in case one breaks. Other than that, nothing to worry about.

The door trim pieces each have two small screws holding them on from behind the door panel. The guides posted around here suggest removing the entire door panel to do this, but I found it very doable if you just pry the top half of the panel. There is enough flex in the door panel that it's pretty easy to access the door trim screws that way. Way easier and quicker than removing the entire door panel.

Hope that helps!

I'd like to see a picture of this. I can't imagine doing that.
