The whole reason we got the X3. What's yours?

One picture will tell the whole story. Brought him home today. 7 lbs. 20 inches. Kinda funny, he looks too small for the car seat.

Congratulations!! They do look tiny in the baby seats. Got our X3 for the exact same reason only our "reason" is now already lot, lot bigger at 20 months old and likes to kick the back of the front seat if he can reach . It's so much easier getting him in and out of the X3 than it was in our last car - big plus.

Congratulations Sard.

The reasons never change. Just mine are now 10 and 7 tears old and as I expect to keep the car for 4 or 5 years I needed something big enough to harbour a grumpy teenager.

Funny reading this thread. Our reasons are at the other end of the age line. Our kids are off our hands now (we hope) and we just simply wanted something that was easy to get in and out of in our "advanced" years. So we were always going to get a mid-sized SUV with the X3 winning out in the end over the XC60 and Q5.

I found out that my wife was having an affair for 6 months.
Went down to buy some printer paper for the loan application to pay her out.
Office Works was next door to the BMW dealer so figured I'd add some extra money to the loan request and bought one.

Go figure.

Congrats Sard! Nice pups Hahoa! I have three dogs and 10 birds. The birds don't actually need the X3 (although they do get to go for rides) - its the plants that I need to replace in the bird room every week or two...then there are new perches and cages and play gyms...etc...

Our reason same as brissim above. We are older, kid gone, and need an interesting vehicle that is fun to drive, yet practical for longer trips to warmer places in winter months. Coming from an M3 sedan, needed the 35i with the power and handling to console me somewhat.

Very pleased with the X3.

Congrats to sard ... get another one quickly and they look after each other by about 5

Mine are 10 and 8 and the rear of an A5 Coupe really wasn't working out any more, plus we've started to do much more family activity (camping, cycling, late night dogging) so more space was required.

I've never been an SUV admirer but on our last trip to the US we had one for 3 weeks and it was just so practical. With the X3 the combo of economy, luxury and practicality did it for me ... and as a company car it worked out at little extra cost compared to a basic saloon (either the residuals were sky high or the quoting system had a bug).

You know I'm joking about taking the kids dogging, right? It's the wife that takes them out for that and she doesn't get to use the X3.

Ditto. A 13 month old and another on the way end of February. I might need to upgrade to the X5 in a couple years. After the redesign of course!
