I think its time to order, V Red M Sport 35i
so I think the wife and I are about to see which Chicagoland BMW will be willing to take our LR2 for a new 2012 X3.
was going to wait for new engines next spring/fall (based on production year ending in April 2012) but if you just keep waiting for the newest and best you will never enjoy what is out there (think smart phones). I am pretty sure I can get 6% off on a fully loaded ($55K sticker) X3 35i M Sport (Vermillion Red, Black leather, Alum trim), that would put it around $600-$700 above invoice. The real question is will any BMW dealership be willing to give us the NADA/KBB trade in average for our LR2 which currently is $21,750 (they are about $800 apart and thats the average). Anyone that traded in a non BMW (especially a SUV) get trade value based on those sites, or are dealers still not respecting them? I know they will probably tell me the car needs alignment and new brake pads (45,000 miles original pads still) so we will see. |

Agree with you that if you keep waiting for the next best thing, you'll never make a purchase. Good luck doing the deal, and look forward to seeing posts once you do!

Mako - like your color choices - mine is same except I have the dark wave wood, not alum.
Good luck in your dealings.

Yea I tried to trade in my 04 Acura Mdx, and the dealer was giving me $5,000 less than the kbb value, so I ended up selling it on my own and I got a way better price than what the dealer was giving. |

Mine's the exact same too! Well, except mine is Alpine White with Oyster and light wood. But other than that, you wouldn't be able to tell them apart!

Dealers laugh at KBB pricing. You need to look at auction pricing and/or Carmax for sale prices but deduct at least 10% for what they will offer you. Be prepared to be disappointed...

I would try selling it on Craig's list. I sold my Nissan Murano for $200 over KBB private party pricing in just 2 days on Craig's list. Dealer wanted to give me $2,000 less than what I sold it for on Craig's list. It was a piece of cake too!

always go to Carmax atleast for a comparative appraisal - just gives you additional options. Def going w/ V.Red? Those DSB Msport picts someone posted are tasty.
