Stuff I really like... okay, love... about my F25
Thought a good thread might be to start a list of various things we are discovering (or already expected) and love about the F25. Would be nice if the thread can remain positive and not contain "but I don't like ____" along with. Even we who are not new to BMW are new to F25, that is the beauty of the first year of a new design. So even the most dyed in the wool BMW owners will be discovering little things that tickle their fancy about the vehicle. I'd love to see what others are digging... I'll start:
1. Cruise control - wasn't sure I'd like the new placement of the controls and different operation, but am getting used to it and it's no bother. But a couple of things I've discovered that I like about it are: a) Even after turning off the car, it stores your most recently set speed - making it much easier to resume where you were; 2) The analog CC speed indicator in the speedo ring is red when CC is on but inactive, and green when active. That is just cool. 2. Instrument panel - the white crystal illumination in the panel is so clean and crisp! I'm sure this is transitioning in all models, but the first bimmer I've had with anything other than the orange cluster. So easy to read, and just looks much more high tech. 3. Top Down View - no excuses to ever curb a wheel again! This view is amazing. Being able to see the parking lines or curb while manuvering into place is great! And you don't have to stick your head out the window like an idiot. 5. LED Angel Eyes - so much nicer looking, especially as used for DRL. They are actually so bright that I squint when looking at them. Makes the reflection of your car in the back of a black pickup look awesome. 6. No external rubber seal between windshield and roof. If you don't understand why I think that's great, then you've never waxed a car.

What I love:
1) the premium sound system. 2) the styling (looks), a very sporty looking SUV. 3) the peppy ness for an SUV. 4) agree to the birds eye view 5) the feel and looks of the sports seat and steering wheel. 6) the xDrive, can't stop playing with it. 7) and of course the feel and handling quality. |

Love the sound of the turbo and every time I start the X.
Also love the angel eyes....they are just plain cool and are so bright! Love the top view as well on the rear view camera. Love the downlights on the door handles at night. Love, love, love driving in Sport mode!! Feels like a different vehicle! The sport seats rock! I think I'll love BMW apps, but I haven't got to use it yet! Last but not least, love driving it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

I really dig the contrast stitching. Huge impact from a small thing.
Feel of the steering wheel. Nice leather. Just the right amount of softness. Good diameter. Power/torque. Still makes me giggle that an SUV will get up and go like this thing does! The smooth transition of the dash and Nav from daylight to night modes even in dense trees and tunnels. The wipers. Smooth, large, clean wipes. The rear wiper. Simple. Works great. Plus all the stuff y'all noted above!

Nice thread. Similar to this one cool things but with more !!
Agree with all LZ's original comments except the top down view and that's only because I didn't order it, I want it, and now I'm bitter and jealous! All of the lighting from the Angel Eyes reflecting off the car in front of you to the interior lights to the coming home down lights on the door handles are

Plus MF 1 on the lighting in general. Xenons, angel eyes, door lights and ambience lighting combine to give a real premium feel to the car.
Love the sports seats. So comfy and do a great job. Love having leather again. Love third gear (manual gearbox with 20d engine). Put your foot down and she flies. Love the weighting of the steering. You can feel the xdrive working and I like that. Love the whole technology levels packed into the car. I-drive, BMW online, send to car and iPhone app. Never fails to impress anyone. Love it love it love it. Definitely made the right choice. In fact might go right now and wash her (again) and treat her to a waxing ;-) |
