2011 X3 28i
A friend is looking at used X3s and I found this one at a local dealer. http://www.hendrickbmw.com/certified...5d9aedf524.htm
Are there any specific issues she should look out for on the 2011 models? Any thoughts on the price shown?

Its low mileage and probably 12-15 months of factory warranty left. It has decent options Its worth $33k max I would say.
No HUD, DHP, Adaptive Headlights, Premium Sound, and it has partial Cold Weather. Regular Sport not MSport package. Overall its pretty well equipped and just priced a little high, depends on whats important. |

2011
We bought our 2011 in Dec 13. It is a fully optioned 35I, so the price is not directly compareable, but I do not think it is a lot to much considering it is a CPO vehicle. Get the VIN and pull up the built and you can verify what options it has. I do not think HUD was available in the 11's, at least it is not in ours and there is no mention of it in the owners manual. Are the rear seats heated? Get the Carfax report as well, it is worth the money even if the dealer will not get it for you. We have been very happy with our 2011.

I also think its way overpriced and bare bones. I wouldn't pay more than 27K for that car. But dealers make the most from resales...
I would go with a 2014 when they get marked down as the 2015s come out. you might be able to negotiate a basic model for under 40. |

How lucky you guys are in the USofA to have a 6 year / 100,000 mile warranty included with your Beamers ;-)).
Makes us here in the UK really sick :-((( where we only ever get the original 3 year warranty with a new car or 12month warranty with a used dealer car if it is out of the original 3 year warranty. Just goes to show how differently we are treated in other countries, although your pricing appears higher! |

Warranty?
Check closely on that warranty. If truly good to 100,000 miles, it is worth a lot of $$. BMW quoted me almost $5500 for a warranty extension out to 80,000 miles. Didn't buy it.

According to BMW's website: Covers you for 2 years/50,000 miles* whichever comes first, after the expiration of the 4-year/50,000-mile New Vehicle/SAV Limited Warranty for a total of 6 years/100,000 miles.
The key word here is up to 100K miles. I guess if you drive 25000 miles a year, then the extended warranty will be good for 100K miles. Also read the fine prints in the CPO warranty, there are quite a few items that is not cover in the CPO warranty. |

HUD
I stand corrected, it was a $1300 option.
