x3 35d coming in Oct 2011

Am not sure if this is known, but a 35d will be available from Oct 2011 onwards. It will have 306 PS and will be super fast (do not have that info but am assuming 35i speeds plus a gigantic torque). Dealer confirmed above to me as I was thinking about getting an x3 (at the time). X3 is a great car, especially for US buyers as they get a lot of stuff included.

Are you saying a x3 diesel will be available in the USA in Oct 2011? I see that your location is Vienna but you mention the US. Thanks

US comment for the x3 in general (not for x35d), having said that, I think that 35d will be released in the US (my own guess) to (again) demonstrate the super power that diesel engines have.

This sounds very interesting. I was planning to order an X3 30d in April and have been waiting for the new Apps/iPhone integration, but now I just might wait for the 35d. Thanks for the heads up!

Are you sure? The dealer that confirmed you is from Vienna? They usually don't lie when the talk about their cars ...so...you should find out more details about the date when it will be released...About that engine ..if the xdrive 30d is making 6,0 sec to 100km/h ( 60 mile/h) then the X3 xdrive40d should make easily 5,8 sec. That's one fast car we are talking about.

P.S. I wanted to change my mercedes this summer with this new x3 , i think i'll wait for the 306ps diesel engine.

Is the 35D going to be a US option only as you guys dont get the 20D or 30D?
Australia for our launch we only got the 20D and 28i (no 35i ).
We have 30D's coming from April but no confirmation of the 35D, I would think for Australia it would be too close to the X5 30D which is one of the biggest sellers here.

Any news on the 35d version coming out? I'm ready to order the 30d but I would hold out for the 35d if it's coming.

35d engine

I have already ordered a 3.0d M-Sport, but asked the dealer when i heard about the 35d engine becoming available.
Mine was originally told March delivery, but now it's came forward to January.
And for 2250GBP i can change the order for the 35d,mmmmmmmmmm
Just waiting to see the full details before i make a final decision.

I spoke to Adam on Saturday last week (sales manager at Westside)
He was not aware of the 35d - and was cautious about it ever coming to Australia as it could in his view steal sales from the X5.
His comment was that the 35d was availabel last time in the original X3 but Australia never imported it.

My view - I have the 30d on order - if they bring out the 35d and its better - I might upgrade and put a lot of pressure on them to give me a really good deal.
(but I might do that anyway - let's see how good the car is first)

Thanks for the heads up. To be honest I don't trust anythings car salesmen tell me anymore. I know that if I do order a 30d and a 35d comes out they'll make up some excuse or they're most likely not working there anymore.

I took the old X3 for a test drive at Westside a few months before the new version was released and the sales guy was adamant a new version wasn't coming out for years. He was desperate to get a sale out of me and took me for a chump that didn't know anything. I came home and there were tons of threads of the new X3 in camoflage!

Anyways, I'm 80% certain the 35d won't come out and at the same time I'm not particularly in a rush to get the new either. If the 35d came out I would jump on it but I'm giving myself a bit more time for now. I know the 30d is plenty of power but a diesel version of my N54 sounds too good to pass up!

Fair enough.

Please PM me with the salesman who lied - I will avoid him - although I have had fair dealings with most of them there...

I usually deal with Mark K. He did right by me on the Z4 and helped as much as he could with the X3 order (given its popularity)

Awesome! Congrats! Now that will be a fast car! I wonder what changes it will have, heard smthg about black panel surrounding aircondition or something like that but a 35d must be different visually in some way.

Not to sure it is being manufactured on a new Production line I have been told, should be quick though for a diesel.

Man, I wish we could get the 35d here (or, really, any diesel, but that 35d is sweet). It's frustrating that we build them but we can't get them. Enjoy!
